WB Employment is currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller Setter/Operator to join a well-established and growing precision engineering company based in Bristol. Salary
- £16.00 - £19.00 - with late shift rate of £20.80 -£24.70 per hour (depending on experience)
- Hourly rate is negotiable for the right candidate.
- 30% shift allowance for late shifts.
Working Hours
Early Shift
- Monday to Thursday: 6:00am - 2:00pm
- Friday: 6:00am - 1:30pm
Late Shift
- Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm - Midnight
- 30% shift premium

The Role
As a CNC Miller Setter/Operator, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture precision components to engineering drawings and required specifications. You will play an important role in ensuring production targets, quality standards and delivery schedules are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controls
- Manufacture high-precision components from a variety of materials
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and route cards
- Set tooling, fixtures, work offsets and machine parameters
- Carry out quality inspections using measuring equipment including:
- Micrometers
- Verniers
- Plug gauges
- Ensure components meet drawing tolerances and customer specifications
- Monitor machining processes and make adjustments where required
- Complete production documentation accurately
- Report quality issues and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with maintaining a clean and organised work area (5S)
- Work collaboratively with Production Managers, Manufacturing Group Leaders and colleagues
- Support production requirements across other Bristol sites when required
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience as a CNC Miller Setter/Operator
- Experience operating CNC milling machines with Heidenhain controls
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings
- Experience setting work offsets and tooling
- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Experience using inspection equipment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
- Previous aerospace manufacturing experience
- Experience within a similar precision engineering environment
Working Hours
Early Shift
- Monday to Thursday: 6:00am - 2:00pm
- Friday: 6:00am - 1:30pm
Late Shift
- Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm - Midnight
- 30% shift allowance
Flexibility to work alternative shifts may be required to meet business needs.
Pay
- £16.00 - £19.00 per hour
