Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join our workshop team in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a day shift position offering a competitive salary of up to £50000 per year, depending on experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on a fleet of heavy goods vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, compliant, and operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine servicing, inspections, and maintenance on HGVs and trailers.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
- Carry out MOT preparation and safety inspections in line with DVSA standards.
- Complete all work in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Accurately complete job cards, service records, and inspection reports.
- Work collaboratively with the workshop team to ensure efficient turnaround of vehicles.
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Technician.
- Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) preferred.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with commercial vehicles and trailers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence required (HGV licence beneficial but not essential).
