Ready to bring your love of hospitality to Worcester's newest pub? We're looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to help lead our team and keep the Guinness — and the customer service — flowing.
About Us
The Wilde Poet will be a lively, welcoming Irish pub in the heart of Worcester, known for great pints, customer service and atmosphere. We will have a focus on live music, live sport and want to become a part of the wonderful Worcester pub scene from the get go.
The Role
As Assistant Manager, you'll support the General Manager in running the pub day to day, leading the team, and making sure every customer has a great experience.
- Support the General Manager in day-to-day pub operations
- Lead and motivate the front-of-house team during shifts
- Oversee stock control, cellar management, and supplier orders
- Help deliver excellent customer service and resolve issues as they arise
- Assist with staff rotas, training, and onboarding
- Ensure compliance with licensing, health & safety, and hygiene standards
- Step up to manage the pub in the General Manager's absence
What We're Looking For
- Previous supervisory or assistant management experience in a pub, bar, or hospitality setting
- A genuine passion for great service and a warm, sociable personality
- Strong organisational skills and a hands-on attitude
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
- Cellar experience
