Youth Support Worker – Bristol
Salary: £29514.16 Per Annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Job Type: Temporary (Approx. 12 weeks, with potential permanent opportunity)

Role Summary:
We are recruiting for a Youth Support Worker to join a dedicated team supporting young people aged 16–25 within a supported accommodation service.
Working within a strengths-based environment, you will provide person-centred support to young people experiencing homelessness, helping them build confidence, develop essential life skills, sustain their accommodation and move towards greater independence.
This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference by building trusted relationships, supporting young people to overcome barriers, and helping them achieve positive, long-term outcomes.
Day-to-Day Duties:
We are looking for someone who has a genuine understanding of autism and is committed to supporting adults to achieve greater independence.
You will ideally have:
- Provide one-to-one key worker support to young people aged 16–25.
- Build positive, trusting relationships and provide consistent, person-centred support.
- Develop and regularly review support and action plans tailored to individual goals.
- Complete and update risk assessments and risk management plans.
- Support young people with tenancy and housing management.
- Assist young people with benefits applications, including Universal Credit, PIP and Housing Benefit.
- Support young people with budgeting, paying bills and managing their finances.
- Explore and support pathways into education, training and employment.
- Work closely with external agencies, including mental health services, domestic abuse services and landlords.
- Help young people prepare for independent living and successful move-on.
- Adapt communication styles and approaches to provide creative, person-centred support.
- Encourage young people to develop confidence, resilience and the skills needed for independent living.
About You:
- We're looking for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and helping them achieve lasting change. You will ideally have:
- Experience supporting young people, particularly those experiencing homelessness, vulnerability or complex needs.
- Experience working within supported housing, accommodation-based support, youth services or a related environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with support planning, risk assessment and safeguarding.
- An ability to provide person-centred support and adapt communication styles to meet individual needs.
- An understanding of housing, benefits, budgeting and independent living.
- Experience working with external agencies and other professionals.
- A flexible, proactive and solution-focused approach.
- A genuine commitment to empowering young people to achieve positive outcomes.
- The ability to work flexibly across different shift patterns, including one weekend in four.
