Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our childcare team. This role involves providing high-quality care and education to young children, supporting their development in a safe and nurturing environment. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of early childhood education principles and a genuine enthusiasm for working with children. Experience in nursery settings and childcare management is highly desirable. Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
- Support children's individual needs through personalised care plans and attentive supervision
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment that encourages exploration and learning
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities in compliance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for each child's development
- Manage behaviour effectively using positive reinforcement strategies
- Lead by example in demonstrating excellent communication skills and professionalism at all times
- Assist with organising outings or trips that enhance the children's learning experiences
- Contribute to the organisation of nursery routines, including meal times, nap times, and play sessions
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early years setting (nursery experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required
- Relevant childcare qualifications such as Level 2/3 Diploma in Childcare or equivalent are preferred but not essential for all roles
