Job Purpose:
Big Motoring World Group is an expanding car supermarket group that is going from strength to strength and is looking to employ a Vehicle Cosmetic Manager at our Preparation Centre Site in Peterborough. Duties and Responsibilities:
- To manage the day to day running of the Wheels, Bodyshop 1 & 2, Smart repair departments and reporting across Dayshift and Nightshift.
- To manage the production levels as set by the General Manager, liaising with the department supervisors to monitor and achieve these targets.
- To assist in the planning of workloads for respective departments influencing the workshop loading to achieve production objectives as required.
- To monitor performance targets, productivity and efficiency and take action as required to rectify any shortfalls.
- To monitor staff attendance, timekeeping and general welfare, highlighting any concerns to the HR department and be on hand if required to assist in any disciplinary matters.
- To maintain and enforce company quality standards throughout all departments.
- To assist in the control, issue and correct use of company owned equipment and materials.
- To ensure company owned equipment have daily checks carried out and are serviced in line with manufacturers recommendations.
- To control and monitor waste in accordance with legislation and company policy.
- To constantly maintain good housekeeping standards and take action if required to rectify any shortfalls.
- To assist with staff assessments and make recommendations for training if required.
- To make recommendations for the maintenance, repair and replacement of company owned equipment.
- To make recommendations for process changes/improvements through the departments.
- To manage the supervisory team in place across the body shop structure to ensure the teams are being run efficiently and hitting required targets set.
- To ensure supervisory team are completing daily attendance paperwork including return to works and appraisals as required.
- Liaise with paint suppliers and organise training as identified for the body shop team to enhance skill levels.
- To maintain and enforce company and Industry Health and Safety standards throughout all departments.
Essential Requirements:
- Have the ability to build and develop relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Can work well under pressure to meet deadlines with diligence and accuracy.
- Microsoft skills essential.
- Previous Bodyshop management experience essential – 3 years. High volume industry background preferential.
