Job Summary
Set in a beautiful location overlooking Petworth and the South Downs, our home provides a bright and uplifting environment for both residents and staff. We are seeking a Chef/Cook to join our dedicated kitchen team.
- Prepare and cook fresh, nutritious meals that meet residents' dietary and nutritional requirements.
- Cater for special diets, including texture-modified, diabetic, allergen-free.
- Plan varied and seasonal menus.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety in line with food safety regulations.
- Manage stock, order supplies, and minimise food waste.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained correctly.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience as a Chef, ideally in a care home, nursing home, healthcare, or similar environment.
- Knowledge of IDDSI nutrition and specialist diets for older adults.
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above).
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- A positive, compassionate, and team-focused attitude.
- Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
