Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. Duties
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and professional environment
- Oversee all aspects of food production, from preparation to presentation
- Develop and implement creative menus that meet customer preferences and dietary requirements
- Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control costs effectively
- Train team members in food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards
- Monitor kitchen operations during service times to maintain efficiency and quality
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area in compliance with health regulations
- Assist in serving customers when necessary, providing excellent hospitality
Requirements
- Proven experience in a care home or restaurant environment, with a strong background in food production and cooking
- Supervising experience within a busy kitchen setting is highly desirable
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a kitchen effectively
- Extensive knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members .
- Experience in menu development and food presentation techniques
- A passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding customer service
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are preferred but not essential depending on experience
