Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods using a bulk tipper lorry. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to navigate various routes while ensuring timely deliveries.
Duties
- Operate a bulk tipper lorry to transport goods to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Deliver loads in a timely and safe manner ensuring OTIF delivery.
- Maintain accurate paperwork and reports as required.
- Ensure efficient time management.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the lorry both inside and out.
- Complete daily walk round checks and defect reporting via TMS system
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 driving licence.
- Proven experience as a HGV driver in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Ability to night out when the needs of the business require.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A professional attitude with a focus on customer service.
- Must have a valid MPQC card.
