HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver
Location: West Yorkshire & Surrounding Areas
Pay: From £15.25 per hour + £25 night-out allowance
James Wilby is looking for a reliable and professional HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver to undertake driving assignments across Yorkshire and the UK.
This role is suitable for an experienced Class 1 driver who is comfortable with long-distance and multi-day driving, including nights away from home in an HGV sleeper cab.
The Role
- Complete Class 1 driving assignments, including multi-day work and nights away.
- Carry out deliveries and collections safely and professionally.
- Complete daily vehicle walkaround checks and report any defects.
- Comply with drivers' hours, tachograph and Working Time Regulations.
- Ensure loads are checked and safely secured.
- Complete delivery paperwork, proof of delivery and handheld device records.
- Maintain communication with the Transport Manager / Traffic Office throughout your duties.
- Report delays, breakdowns, accidents or other incidents promptly.
- Ensure the vehicle, trailer, load and company equipment remain secure.
- Maintain a clean and tidy driving cab and sleeper area.
- Provide professional customer service at delivery and collection locations.
- Drive safely and in accordance with all relevant road traffic laws.
- Support yard operations when required.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence.
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous Class 1 tramping experience.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable and professional approach to work.
- Comfortable working away from home when required.
Desirable
- Previous regular tramping experience.
- Moffett experience or training.
- HIAB experience or training.
- FLT experience or training.
