Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated HGV 2 Dustcart Driver to join our waste management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a dustcart lorry to collect waste from designated areas, ensuring efficient and safe collection services. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to environmental cleanliness and community wellbeing. The position requires a valid HGV 2 licence and previous experience in commercial driving or delivery roles. The driver will be expected to adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while providing excellent service. This is a temp to perm position.
Responsibilities
- Operate HGV 2 dustcart vehicles safely and efficiently during scheduled collection routes
- Collect waste from residential sites in accordance with route plans
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Ensure compliance with all road safety laws and environmental regulations
- Maintain accurate records of collections, route completion times, and vehicle mileage
- Assist with loading or unloading waste materials if necessary
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Communicate effectively with the dispatch team regarding route progress or any issues encountered
Skills
- Valid HGV 2 (Category C) licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver or delivery driver, preferably with dustcart or similar vehicles
- Strong driving skills with the ability to manoeuvre large vehicles safely in urban and rural environments
- Excellent organisational skills to manage routes efficiently and adhere to schedules
- Good communication skills for liaising with team members and clients
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times
Monday to Friday - 0600 to 1400
