Purpose of the Role
To support the efficient operation of the warehouse and production function by assembling, packing, and preparing products accurately and safely to meet customer order requirements. The role ensures goods are produced to the required quality standards and dispatched on time, while maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
Key Tasks
- Assemble products accurately in line with work instructions, drawings, and sub-assembly documentation.
- Pack, label, and prepare finished goods to the required quality standards for customer dispatch.
- Move raw materials, components, and finished goods safely within the warehouse and production areas.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, production jigs, and tooling safely and correctly.
- Ensure orders are completed accurately and on time to meet customer and production schedules.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work environment in line with housekeeping standards (5S where applicable).
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems of work at all times.
- Carry out basic quality checks to ensure products meet Glasdon standards before dispatch.
- Accurately complete required paperwork and basic IT systems relating to stock movement, assembly, and dispatch.
- Work effectively as part of the warehouse and production team, supporting colleagues to meet operational targets.
Key Objectives
- Achieve daily and weekly production and assembly targets in line with departmental plans.
- Maintain high levels of order accuracy, minimising errors, rework, and customer returns.
- Consistently comply with Health & Safety standards, contributing to a safe working environment with zero preventable incidents.
- Support on-time dispatch of customer orders by meeting agreed build and packing deadlines.
- Maintain housekeeping standards to audit-ready levels at all times.
- Demonstrate flexibility by supporting different warehouse or production activities as business demands require.
- Build and maintain the skills required to operate tools, equipment, and processes efficiently through training and development.

Essential Skills & Attributes
- Practical and hands-on approach to work, with the ability to assemble products accurately
- Ability to follow written instructions, drawings, and work procedures
- Good literacy and numeracy skills, with attention to detail
- Strong awareness of Health & Safety and the ability to work safely at all times
- Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance
- Physically capable of manual handling tasks in line with safe working practices
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities
- Basic IT skills to support production records, stock movement, or documentation
- Good communication skills to work effectively with colleagues and supervisors
- Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, production, or assembly environment
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, or production jigs
- Experience with packing, labelling, and preparing goods for dispatch
Desirable
- Understanding of quality standards and basic quality checking processes
- Experience of stock movement, warehousing, or distribution activities
- Familiarity with 5S, Lean, or continuous improvement practices
- Forklift truck RTITB license
Working Hours
Full-time, permanent position.
Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm.
30-minute lunch break.
Monthly pay in arrears (by the 28th of each month).
