Double days, 6:00am to 2:00pm and 2:00pm to 10:00pm (10% shift allowance paid for the 2:00pm to 10:00pm shift)

Our operations are organised into three distinct divisions: Landscape Products, Building Products, and Roofing Products and it is within our Building Products Civils & Drainage business that we are actively looking to recruit a Mechanically biased maintenance engineer.
Marshalls Civils and Drainage partners with customers to design, engineer and manufacture precast solutions that support critical infrastructure and civil engineering projects. Our engineering-led approach combines technical expertise with innovative manufacturing to deliver integrated solutions that are safer to install, built to last and designed to perform for decades.

So, what’s the mission?
We now have an opportunity for an experienced, mechanically biased engineer to join our busy maintenance team at our manufacturing site in Mells. Your main responsibilities will be to ensure the continuous running of the production process and facility by eliminating engineering downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment reactive engineering activities on site.
What are the mission critical skills?

A strong mechanical working knowledge with some electrical engineering experience
- The ideal applicant will be qualified, apprentice trained and / or time served in a similar position ideally to NVQ level 3

Experience in mechanical fitting, welding, fabrication and general machining would be an advantage

Experienced in reactive and planned maintenance of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors (belts, chain, rollers, bearings, gear boxes, motors etc.) and able to read technical drawings is essential

Team player with attention to detail

Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements

Experience in mechanical fault finding, defect rectification and routine maintenance activities
Excellent communication skills both oral and written
