JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
VJN Engineering Consultancy Limited is seeking an experienced Quality Control and Planning Engineer to support the planning, monitoring and quality control of engineering projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, contractors, suppliers and management to ensure that engineering activities are properly planned, monitored and delivered in accordance with agreed schedules, quality standards, contractual requirements and company procedures.
The role will involve analysing project performance, developing project schedules, monitoring progress, supporting quality-control activities and providing management with accurate reports on project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop, maintain and monitor engineering project plans and schedules.
· Monitor actual project progress against planned milestones and identify delays or deviations.
· Analyse project performance indicators, including schedule, cost and quality performance.
· Prepare short-term look-ahead schedules and project progress reports.
· Develop and maintain project progress measurement and monitoring systems.
· Ensure engineering and procurement activities are completed in accordance with project schedules and contractual requirements.
· Monitor compliance with company quality policies, procedures and engineering standards.
· Review project documentation, specifications and quality-control requirements.
· Participate in project quality reviews, inspections and planning audits.
· Monitor supplier and contractor performance against agreed quality and delivery requirements.
· Coordinate project planning activities with engineering, procurement and project-management teams.
· Identify project risks, delays and quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
· Prepare technical progress reports, schedules, presentations and management updates.
· Attend project planning, progress and quality-review meetings.
· Support the development and improvement of planning and quality-control procedures.
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
· A Master's degree would be an advantage.
· Relevant qualification or training in project planning, quality control, procurement or supply-chain management would be advantageous.
· Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in engineering planning, project controls, quality control or related project environments.
· Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling and progress-monitoring techniques.
· Ability to analyse project KPIs, schedules, milestones and performance information.
· Good understanding of engineering quality-control procedures and contractual requirements.
· Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong communication, reporting and presentation skills.
· Good organisational and coordination skills.
· Ability to work independently and effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
· Strong time-management skills and ability to meet project deadlines.
