Overview
We are a box manufacturer and packaging distributor, looking to employ someone to work in our factory, making boxes, as well as a range of other duties such as stores, logistics, general housekeeping, site maintenance and potentially some relief driving in our 3.5t vehicle.
You would be contracted for a minimum of 18 hours per week but may be asked to work additional hours during each week depending on what work is available. This will then be subject to your availability and acceptance. Our operating hours are 7.30-5 Monday-Thursday and 7.30-2.30 Friday's. We are not open over the weekends.
Responsibilities
- Operate machinery and equipment in the production line
- Monitor production processes to maintain efficiency
- Perform basic mathematical calculations to make the boxes correctly
- Relief driving in our 3.5t vehicle. Generally locally, within a 25mile range
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the factory & site in general
Qualifications
- Experience in box manufacturing is desirable, but not essential
- Basic maths skills for measuring and calculating sizes
- Mechanical knowledge to operate machinery effectively
For the driving, we have a full time driver for our 7.5t, but we have a back-up 3.5t vehicle which is used for additional deliveries/holiday cover. Currently, the 3.5t vehicle does not require an additional CPC license. This is what you would be driving as/when required. Our insurance does only cover us for over25s currently, though we will make considerations if you do not meet this age.
The role is a very manual role, with a lot of standing at machinery/tooling, lifting, picking goods from height, etc.
