Based at the Boulevard Hotel, we are now seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our culinary team.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting food preparation and ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for culinary arts, hospitality, and food safety to develop their skills within a dynamic environment. The role involves working closely with senior chefs and kitchen staff to deliver high-quality dishes in a timely manner.
Duties
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and assembling ingredients.
- Support the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from senior chefs
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in accordance with food safety standards
- Supervise junior staff or trainees when required, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently
- Manage food production schedules to meet service deadlines
- Ensure all food items are prepared according to quality standards and specifications
- Contribute to menu development ideas and presentation styles
- Uphold high standards of hygiene, safety, and sanitation within the kitchen environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, or kitchen roles within a hospitality or restaurant setting
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene practices
- Prior supervising experience or leadership qualities are desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Good team management skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices
- Experience in hospitality or serving roles is advantageous but not essential
- A proactive attitude with a passion for culinary excellence and customer satisfaction
- Expected to pass a drug test
