We’re looking for a Communications and Marketing Coordinator to join our team as maternity leave cover. This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of a dynamic organisation, using internal comms to share information across the Port’s wide-ranging teams. Since 1760 Shoreham Port has operated as a Trust Port, with all profits continually reinvested to benefit users of the Port and the local community. We play a vital role in the regional economy.
The Port is a diverse and complex ecosystem. We facilitate cargo, leisure and fishing marine traffic through efficient discharge, storage and logistics services. These are complemented by an extensive commercial property portfolio made up of over 170 businesses. Port Kitchen, our café provides a focal point for the estate. Shoreham Port is recognised throughout the sector as a pioneer in sustainability and has been a certified EcoPort for thirteen years.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Responsible for continuous delivery of key internal communications via multiple channels and outlets.
- Maintain existing relationships across the Port and tailor messaging to colleagues accordingly.
- Using Canva and other digital software to create visually engaging content, infographics, and key metrics to ensure communications are digestible.
- Responsible for the upkeep of our Intranet and driving consistent engagement with it.
- Assist with the coordination and planning of events.
- Provide cross-team support where required for agreed Port priorities.
- Facilitate our ‘All Colleague Conversation’ in workshop and in webinar format.
Key Skills
- Creative and proactive, full of ideas on how to get our messages across using a mix of internal and external comms channels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail orientated and keen eye for design.
- Be able to pick up queries and be clear on deadlines, with an understanding of how and when to escalate.
- Great interpersonal skills and like to work as part of a team.
- Creative, with experience using Canva, Photoshop and video editing software.
- Previous communications experience.
