Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mechanical operations and demonstrate proficiency in operating excavators for various construction and excavation tasks. This role is crucial for ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and safely while adhering to all regulations and standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators to perform digging, trenching, and grading tasks as required by project specifications.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily logs and equipment usage.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate excavation activities.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating machinery on site.
- Assist in the maintenance and minor repairs of the excavator as needed.
- Ensure the work area is kept clean and organised throughout the project duration.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge, with the ability to troubleshoot minor issues with machinery.
- Experience in commercial driving is advantageous, ensuring safe transportation of equipment when necessary.
- Proficient in digging techniques and understanding of soil types to execute excavation tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and supervisors.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing site requirements.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a 360 excavator operator
- Valid CSCS card (required)
- NPORS or CPCS certification for 360 excavator operation (required)
- CIS registered (self-employed status)
- Reliable with strong attention to detail and safety standards
