We are looking for a fully experienced Sign Maker / Fabricator to join our busy production team.
DAW Signs has secured one of the largest retail rebrand programmes in Europe, running over the next four years, and we’re looking for skilled, motivated Signage Superstars to join the team and play a key role in delivering this exciting programme.
The successful candidates will have solid experience across all aspects of sign making, fabrication and assembly, with a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
The Role
You’ll be involved in manufacturing a wide range of quality signage, working with materials including aluminium, aluminium composite, acrylic, vinyl, rigid PVC and LED.
Your experience should include:
- Cutting and assembling aluminium sign systems, light boxes and totem signs
- Setting out and fabricating large aluminium panel signage from start to finish
- Cutting, folding and assembling aluminium composite panels and trays
- Cutting and assembling aluminium box section into frames and structures
- Vinyl application by hand and using laminators
- Plotting, weeding and applying graphics to fascias, signage and point-of-sale structures
- Applying printed roll vinyls to panels and other substrates
- Manufacturing and assembling signage from aluminium, Perspex, POS materials and other substrates
- Reading and interpreting scaled and technical drawings and translating them into finished signs
- Working accurately to specifications while maintaining a high standard of finish
Salary
£16–£18 per hour starting rate, depending on experience, with the opportunity to increase your hourly rate through our skills-based pay structure. Earn an additional £2 per hour for each recognised specialist machine competency, with higher earning potential for candidates with a broad range of capabilities.
Specialist Skills & Machine Competencies
Experience using the following machinery would be advantageous:
- AXYZ CNC Router
- Durst or Vutek large-format digital print machines
- Kongsberg Esko cutting table
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong, proven experience in general sign making and fabrication
- Experience working across a wide range of signage types and materials
- A strong understanding of sign manufacturing methods, tools and machinery
- The ability to work from technical and scaled drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
- A practical, hands-on approach to manufacturing and problem-solving
- The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a busy production team
- Good communication skills and a commitment to working safely and efficiently
