Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and professional Receptionist/School Secretary to join our friendly school team. This is a key front-of-house role, providing a warm welcome to pupils, parents, visitors, and staff while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school office. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive school environment during term time.
Working Hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £18,000 to £25,000 depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a welcoming and professional reception service to all visitors and callers.
- Manage incoming telephone calls, emails, and enquiries efficiently and courteously.
- Undertake a wide range of administrative duties, including maintaining records, filing, data entry, and correspondence.
- Support the Senior Leadership Team and teaching staff with administrative tasks.
- Coordinate appointments, meetings, and visitor arrangements.
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times and adhere to school policies and procedures.

- Excellent administrative and organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- A professional, approachable, and friendly manner.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff, and visitors.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and work calmly under pressure.
- Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding within a school environment.
Safeguarding Requirements:
All candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check prior to appointment. The successful applicant will also be required to complete Safeguarding training and demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
