Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Head Housekeeper to oversee the cleanliness and organisation of our care home. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in care services, with excellent leadership skills to manage a team of housekeeping staff. This role is vital in maintaining high standards of hygiene, presentation, and resident/family satisfaction. The Head Housekeeper will be responsible for ensuring that all areas meet the care homes quality standards and operational requirements.
Duties
- Lead, supervise, and motivate the housekeeping team to deliver exceptional service standards.
- Lead on infection control measures and attend meetings to support this role.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure efficiency and consistency.
- Conduct regular inspections of residents rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Manage stock levels of cleaning supplies and linen, placing orders as necessary to maintain adequate inventory.
- Train new staff members on cleaning protocols, health and safety regulations, and customer service expectations.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate cleaning activities around resident admissions and discharges.
- Address residents complaints or special requests promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all housekeeping operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in housekeeping or janitorial services, with a minimum of two years in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
- Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and best practices for cleanliness and hygiene.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
