We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Packing Operative to join our production team at our Willand manufacturing site.
Role Purpose
You will be responsible for packing finished retail and bulk food products at the end of the production line into outer cases and preparing pallets in line with site pallet configurations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring products are packed accurately, labelled correctly, and prepared efficiently for dispatch while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and traceability.
Key Responsibilities
- Pack finished products into outer cases in line with production requirements.
- Set up and operate packing equipment, including box tapers, labellers, and rotary tables.
- Input, set, and record date codes and label information on applicators.
- Complete all packing paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Configure, stack, wrap, and label pallets according to site standards.
- Move packed products to dispatch or storage areas as required.
- Clear packing lines between product changes and at the end of each shift.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working area at all times.
- Carry out order picking and packing duties when required.
- Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures.
About You
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or packing is advantageous but not essential.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced production environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work night shifts consistently.
- Able to follow procedures accurately with strong attention to detail.
- Team‑focused with a positive and proactive approach to work.
Shift & Pay
- Start Date: 10/08/2026
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 09:30–17:30
- Pay Rate: £12.76 per hour
- Overtime: Paid at 1.5× basic hourly rate after 37.5 hours
- Holiday: 28 days including bank holidays
- Enhanced Holiday Pay: Based on average hours over the previous 52 weeks
- Retention Bonus: £300 after 3 months of successful employment (subject to terms)
