Join our dynamic team as a Mobile Plant Fitter and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing essential heavy machinery used across construction, mining, and industrial sites. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of mobile plant equipment such as excavators, dumpers, forklifts, as well as other heavy and small machinery. Your expertise will keep operations running smoothly, minimize downtime, and support the success of large-scale projects. Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mobile plant equipment including excavators, forklifts, and other heavy machinery to ensure safety and operational efficiency
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics and technical manuals
- Conduct fabrication and welding tasks to modify or repair equipment components as needed
- Use hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and assembly techniques to complete repairs accurately
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, interpret schematics, and carry out wiring or soldering repairs to restore functionality
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used for compliance and tracking purposes
- Assist with equipment assembly during upgrades or new installations while adhering to safety standards
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in heavy machinery such as excavators and forklifts
- Full Driving licence required
- Proficiency in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering
- Ability to read and interpret schematics for electrical and hydraulic systems
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and power equipment safely and effectively
- Experience in electrical troubleshooting and repairs within industrial machinery
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures for heavy equipment to maximize uptime
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with site personnel or clients during repairs or inspections
- Capable of heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during complex repair tasks
