Overview
This role is for Saturdays only. In this energetic role, you will assist customers in selecting plants, gardening supplies, and horticultural products, ensuring they receive expert guidance and friendly service. Your passion for gardening and excellent communication skills will help customers find the perfect solutions for their outdoor projects. Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by offering knowledgeable advice on plants, gardening tools, and horticultural techniques in multiple languages such as English and Spanish.
- Assist with the display and merchandising of products to create attractive, accessible garden sections that inspire customers.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the garden centre, including stock replenishment and inventory management.
- Support plant care activities such as watering, pruning, labeling, and ensuring healthy growth of all horticultural items.
- Help customers with their purchases, including loading products and providing guidance on plant care routines.
- Collaborate with team members to plan seasonal displays and promotional events that enhance customer engagement.
- Stay informed about gardening trends, plant varieties, and horticultural best practices to provide accurate information.
Qualifications
- Passionate about gardening, horticulture, and outdoor environments with a desire to share knowledge with others.
- Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish or other languages is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage stock levels and maintain an inviting shopping environment.
- Previous experience in retail merchandising or customer service is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of gardening techniques, plant care, and horticultural practices is highly desirable.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Multilingual abilities will be considered an asset for engaging a diverse customer base.
