We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Secondary School Teacher specialising in Humanities to join our educational team. Duties
- Plan and deliver comprehensive lessons in Humanities, including subjects such as history, geography, and social studies.
- Develop creative and inclusive teaching materials that cater to diverse learning needs.
- Mentor students, providing guidance on academic progress and personal growth.
- Incorporate journalism, creative writing, and proofreading activities to enhance literacy skills.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, fostering a positive learning environment through behaviour management strategies.
- Organise tutoring sessions to support students requiring additional assistance in subjects like maths or special education needs.
- Assess student work regularly, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans and organise school events related to humanities topics.
- Maintain organisational records of student progress and lesson plans in accordance with school policies.
- Promote communication skills through class discussions, presentations, and group projects.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in teaching secondary school students within a Humanities discipline.
- Strong mentoring abilities with a passion for student development.
- Knowledge of journalism, creative writing, proofreading, and behaviour management techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, suitable for engaging young learners.
- Organisational skills necessary for lesson planning, record keeping, and coordinating activities.
- Experience in tutoring students in maths or supporting special education programmes is desirable.
