London Transport Museum is the world’s leading museum of urban transport. As an education and preservation charity, LTM uses the powerful link between transport and the growth of London, culture and society since 1800 to tell the story of London’s journey over the past 200 years. The Museum’s purpose is to ignite curiosity to shape the future.
As we embark on an ambitious capital campaign to reimagine London Transport Museum, we are seeking two proactive, relationship-driven Development Executives to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of corporate partnerships at the Museum.
You will nurture a portfolio of long-standing corporate supporters, ensuring partnerships deliver mutual value. You will support with identifying and developing new business opportunities, crafting compelling funding and partnership proposals and personally manage a pipeline of corporate prospects, delivering exceptional stewardship that strengthens long-term commitment from both Corporate Sponsors and Members.
Working closely with the Corporate Partnerships Managers and Fundraising Events Manager, you will secure exciting auction items and table sales for the London Transport Dinner & Auction and support with building compelling events for the Interchange thought leadership programme.
A confident communicator with a proven track record in relationship management, you’ll be highly motivated, bringing initiative and flair, strong planning, organisation and research skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. What you’ll be doing
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the Museum’s fundraising strategy, with a specific focus on corporate partnerships.
- Identify, research and secure new corporate partnership, membership and sponsorship opportunities aligned with the Museum’s strategic priorities.
- Research, build and maintain a pipeline of qualified corporate prospects, conducting thorough Due Diligence to ensure alignment with the mission and values of the Museum.
- Develop compelling sponsorship proposals and partnership packages that deliver mutual value for the Museum and corporate partners.
- Act as a primary relationship manager for a portfolio of corporate partners, providing high‑quality stewardship and ensuring long‑term engagement and retention.
- Ensure all contractual benefits and obligations are delivered accurately, on time and to a high standard.
- Coordinate partnership activity across internal teams, including marketing, programming and events, to maximise partner value and visibility.
- Lead or support the delivery of partnership‑related events and activations, ensuring a professional partner experience.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of partnership activity, income and communications within the CRM system.
- Produce high‑quality partnership communications, including proposals, reports, updates and newsletters.
- Monitor partnership performance and prepare clear reports that support renewals, growth and long‑term stewardship.
- Regularly review and update the content of the Museum’s website and digital supporters screen to ensure messaging is consistent with brand and strategic objectives.
- Provide administrative support for the Museum’s corporate partnerships, including minute-taking, maintaining financial records, compiling partnership data for evaluation, and responding to enquiries.
What we’re looking for
Essential skills and experience:
- Knowledge of corporate fundraising, sponsorship or partnership development practice.
- Proven experience working in a corporate partnerships, sponsorship, fundraising or stakeholder management role.
- Experience of managing relationships with stakeholders and account management at a senior level.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce persuasive proposals and present confidently to senior audiences.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple partnerships and deadlines simultaneously.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in written communications and contractual documentation.
- Confident user of MS Office and CRM/database systems to drive income generation.
- Proactive, flexible and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience of supporting or delivering partnership related events or activations.
- Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends as the programme requires to support the delivery of events and networking opportunities.
Desirable:
- Demonstrable track record of generating income through corporate relationships and meeting or exceeding income targets.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of fundraising legislation and best practice.
- Understanding of the museum, cultural or visitor attraction sector.
- Experience of working with internal teams to deliver integrated partnership activity.
