Stanley John Ltd are a Newbury-based Builders Merchant specialising in Civils & Drainage. With over 25 years' experience, we’ve built a strong reputation for reliability, quality and excellent service.
We are currently looking for a permanent driver to be part of our transport team, driving a 3.5-Tonne Flatbed Vehicle. You will be joining a great team who pride ourselves on working together and getting the job done.
Monday-Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm.
Job responsibilities:
* Delivering building materials on an 8 Metre long 3.5T Flatbed Ford Transit vehicle (5 Metre extended bed).
* Deliveries range from 1 to 6 drops per day. 90% of drops are regular and to the same sites.
* We deliver to all counties surrounding Berkshire, with occasional travel further.
* Being part of a team of 4 or 5 for transport, loading and driving.
* General upkeep & cleanliness of vehicle.
* Communicating with customers on site and over the phone.
What we're looking for...
Training & Experience:
* Experience in securing, loading and unloading materials in a safe manner (essential)
* Full, clean UK Driver's Licence (essential)
* Must be competent in processing vehicle defect reports and general vehicle maintenance/upkeep (essential)
* Experience within the builders merchant industry & on building sites (desirable)

(Possible opportunity to further increase in wages if also able to provide cover for 11.5T drivers that are on holiday or sick. Approximately 30 days cover per year. Driver would need 11.5T licence and need to be up to date with CPC regulations to qualify for this opportunity. Please note this isn't a necessity when applying for the 3.5T driver position).
