About the Role
Emperia College is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced GCSE Science Tutor to teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics to GCSE students. We have opportunities for both online and in-person tuition.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons, help students develop a strong understanding of scientific concepts, and prepare them for GCSE examinations through effective teaching and regular assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach GCSE Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics through one-to-one and small group sessions, both online and in person.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs.
- Explain scientific concepts clearly and encourage practical understanding where appropriate.
- Prepare students for GCSE examinations using revision techniques, past papers and exam-style questions.
- Mark students' work and provide constructive feedback to support their progress.
- Monitor student performance and maintain accurate attendance and progress records.
- Communicate professionally with parents and the college where required.
Requirements
- Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or a related Science subject (or equivalent experience).
- Experience teaching or tutoring GCSE Science.
- Strong knowledge of the GCSE Science curriculum (Combined Science and/or Separate Sciences).
- Ability to teach one or more science subjects to a high standard.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to teach effectively both online and in a classroom environment.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
