Primary School Sports Coach (Part-Time)
Salary: £22.00–£25.00 per hour (depending on experience)
SportsCool Dartford is looking for enthusiastic, reliable and confident Sports Coaches to join our growing team from September 2026.
We deliver exciting, engaging and inclusive after-school clubs in primary schools across Bexley, Bromley and surrounding areas, encouraging children to stay active, develop confidence and most importantly have fun.
This role is ideal for experienced coaches who are confident leading sessions independently, while also being part of a supportive coaching team.
Current Coaching Locations
Our current schools are based in:
- Orpington
- Welling
- Foots Cray
- Erith
- Bexleyheath
Additional schools, nurseries, care homes and holiday camp opportunities are expected to become available as SportsCool Dartford continues to grow.
Responsibilities
- Deliver fun, engaging and inclusive sports sessions for primary school children.
- Lead after-school clubs independently.
- Create a safe, positive and enjoyable learning environment.
- Set up and pack away sports equipment.
- Manage behaviour positively and professionally.
- Represent SportsCool Dartford professionally when working in schools.
- Communicate effectively with schools, parents and the SportsCool management team.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should:
- Hold a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate suitable for working with children.
- Have previous experience coaching or working with children.
- Be confident leading sessions independently.
- Be reliable, punctual and professional.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Be able to travel to one or more of our school locations.
A recognised coaching qualification is desirable but not essential if you have relevant coaching experience.
Sports We Deliver
Experience in one or more of the following is desirable:
- Football
- Dodgeball
- Cricket
- Archery
- Multi-Sports
- Team Building Activities
- Lego Workshops
- Or similar activities for primary-aged children.
Recruitment Process
Our recruitment process is straightforward:
Stage 1
- Submit your application through Indeed.
Stage 2
- Successful applicants will be invited to a short telephone or video interview to discuss their experience, availability and suitability for the role.
Stage 3
- Suitable candidates will then be invited to attend a practical coaching assessment during one of our Holiday Camps.
The practical assessment will last approximately 30–40 minutes, where you'll lead an activity of your choice (for example football, dodgeball, cricket, Lego or another suitable activity). This allows us to see how you engage with children and deliver a session in a real coaching environment.
If both you and SportsCool Dartford feel the role is the right fit following the practical assessment, coaching sessions will be confirmed ready for September 2026.
