Orchard Surgery is a long established, friendly GP Practice with a comprehensive and experience clinical and non-clinical team. We are seeking a dedicated and organised Care Navigator to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in coordinating patient care, providing administrative support, and ensuring seamless communication between patients and healthcare providers. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient wellbeing while developing valuable skills within a supportive environment. The ideal applicant will possess strong organisational abilities, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in various office software.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for patients, offering guidance and support throughout their care journey
- Schedule appointments, follow-ups, and coordinate referrals with healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record systems
- Utilise computer software such as Microsoft Office for data entry and administrative tasks, as well as our clinical system.
- Manage incoming calls with professional phone etiquette, addressing patient enquiries efficiently
- Perform general administrative duties including typing correspondence, filing, and organising documentation
- Ensure compliance with confidentiality standards and data protection regulations
- This post is to include a Friday late working up until 6.30pm
Skills
- Experience of working in a healthcare setting in a patient facing role
- Proven reception experience with strong organisational skills
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Excellent typing speed and accuracy for data entry tasks
- Previous clerical or administrative experience within a healthcare setting is desirable
- Exceptional phone etiquette with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision whilst maintaining attention to detail

Pay: £12.71 per hour
