Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Housing Support Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting clients with housing-related issues, ensuring they receive appropriate support and guidance. Duties
- Engage with clients to assess their housing needs and provide tailored support.
- Negotiate housing options and agreements on behalf of clients, ensuring their best interests are represented.
- Maintain accurate records using Yardi property management software, updating case notes and client information regularly.
- Liaise with landlords, property managers, and external agencies to facilitate housing placements and resolve issues.
- Provide advice on tenancy rights, responsibilities, and available support services.
- Assist clients in completing application forms and other documentation required for housing processes.
- Monitor client progress and follow up to ensure ongoing support is effective and appropriate.
- Organise appointments, meetings, and outreach activities to promote housing stability within the community.
Skills
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of clients.
- Proficiency in using Yardi or similar property management software is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals.
- Organised with the capacity to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Empathetic approach towards clients facing complex housing challenges.
- Knowledge of local housing policies, regulations, and support services is advantageous.
