Due to continued expansion, we are seeking a Distribution Centre Manager to head our team in Goole.
Our Goole distribution centre is a newly acquired 30,000 pallet space warehouse, with a fully automated warehouse system. You will be tasked with heading up a team to manage all activities across the site.
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience managing a fast paced third party warehouse operation.
Salary: 45k to 50k per annum + a company car.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the day-to-day operation of the distribution centre.
· Manage and develop operational teams across warehouse, administration and supervisory functions.
· Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet customer demand and operational requirements.
· Drive a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to improve service performance.
· Ensure customer orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and within agreed agreements.
· Maintain full compliance with customer operating procedures and requirements.
· Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), implementing corrective actions where required.
· Take ownership of site Health & Safety, ensuring compliance with all company policies, industry regulations and legal requirements
· Conduct regular audits, risk assessments and site inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
· Lead training and development.
· Work closely with customers to maintain strong relationships and ensure high levels of service.
· Manage site budgets and financial performance.
· Oversee workforce planning and recruitment activities to support business growth and operational demands.
· Lead operational projects, customer implementations and business growth initiatives as required.
Required Experience & Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years' management experience within a fast-paced third-party logistics (3PL) environment.
· Proven experience managing a multi-customer warehousing operation.
· Demonstrable experience leading, motivating and developing large operational teams.
· Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and operational reporting.
· Proven track record of delivering operational improvements and driving performance against KPIs.
· Excellent understanding of Health & Safety legislation and best practice within a logistics environment.
· Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets.
· Experience in workforce planning, recruitment and employee development.
· Strong customer relationship management skills with a service-focused approach.
· Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work under pressure and make effective operational decisions in a fast-moving environment.
