Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant. This is a varied role offering exposure to month-end accounting, management reporting, for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable/receivable and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Working closely with the Office Manager, CEO and wider finance team, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial information is produced in a timely manner while supporting the business with meaningful insight into performance.
This position would suit someone looking to develop their accounting career within a dynamic commercial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End & Transactional Finance
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including resolving queries and assisting during busy month-end periods
- Assist with month-end close activities including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records within the accounting system
- Support general ledger maintenance and ensure data integrity across finance systems
- Reconcile bank statements and financial data
- Prepare financial reports for management review
- Inter-company transactions and reconciliation
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Collate, reconcile, and analyse financial data for reporting purposes
- Produce sales and margin reports across products, customers, and business areas
- Maintain and improve Excel-based reports, models, and templates
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a finance role
- Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and reporting tools
- Good numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage routine transactional tasks alongside analytical responsibilities
- Experience reconciling data from multiple sources
- Positive, proactive attitude
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with non-finance stakeholders

- Reports to: Office Manager
- Works closely with: Finance team and operational departments in the UK and overseas HQ

· Contract: Permanent, Full Time
· Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
· Location: Office Based, in person, Runcorn, Cheshire
· Annual Leave: 24 days per annum, rising to 28 days per annum plus Bank holidays
Pay: £30,000.00 per year
