About the Role
We are seeking an organised and proactive Practice Administrator to join our busy and friendly team. This is a key role within the practice, providing administrative support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of day-to-day operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating administrative activities, supporting staff, and helping deliver a high standard of service to patients and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily administrative functions of the practice.
- Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in line with data protection regulations.
- Handle incoming correspondence, emails, and telephone enquiries.
- Support appointment scheduling and clinic coordination.
- Typing letters / referrals.
- GP private work, medical reports etc.
- Dealing with medical record requests
- Liaise with external organisations such as NHS bodies, suppliers, and service providers.
- Ensure policies and procedures are up to date and followed.
- Support the Practice Manager with audits, compliance, and quality improvement activities.
Person Specification
Essential Skills and Experience
- Previous administrative experience, ideally in a healthcare or GP practice setting.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Welsh speaker
Desirable
- Experience using clinical systems such as EMIS Web
- Knowledge of NHS procedures and medical terminology.
- Understanding of GDPR and information governance requirements.
