Venue & Exhibits Technician
Quirky Quarter · 142 Duke Street, Liverpool
Hours: Flexible — no two weeks quite the same
Quirky Quarter is one of Liverpool's most unusual visitor attractions — a place full of illusions, interactive exhibits, and things that really shouldn't be possible. We're looking for a practical, creative all-rounder to help us keep it running, dream up and build what comes next and share it with the people who walk through our doors.
No two days are the same. One morning you might be fixing something before we open, the
afternoon building a brand-new exhibit in the workshop, and later out on the floor showing
guests how it works. If you like variety, making things, and never being bored, this is the job.
What you'll be doing
- Building, tinkering with, and improving our exhibits — from a sketch on a napkin to a
finished, guest-proof creation
- Keeping the venue looking sharp and everything working exactly as it should
- Jumping on whatever needs fixing — a bit of joinery here, a wiring fault there
- Getting hands-on with guests — operating exhibits and helping run the experience
- The odd run across the city — picking things up, dropping things off
- Generally being the person who can turn their hand to whatever the day throws up
What we're looking for
- You're good with your hands — confident joinery skills and pride in a neat finish
- You're comfortable with basic electrics — changing fittings, wiring, and working out why
something's stopped working
- You can drive and have your own vehicle (we cover mileage)
- You're happy in front of people and enjoy being part of the show
- You're a natural problem-solver who likes variety and doesn't need hand-holding
- You're flexible on hours — we'll sometimes need an early start or a weekend
- Bonus points for anything creative: set-building, prop-making, electronics, or tinkering
with interactive tech
The practical bits
- Flexible shift pattern
- Mileage covered
- Enhanced DBS check required
Pay: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
