Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support educators and students within a dynamic learning environment. The successful candidate will work closely with children, including those with special educational needs, to foster an inclusive and engaging educational experience. Duties
- Assist teachers in delivering lesson plans across various subjects, including creative writing and specialised programmes for students with disabilities.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, ensuring they understand tasks and stay engaged.
- Support students with special educational needs, including those on the autism spectrum, by implementing tailored learning strategies.
- Help create a positive classroom environment by fostering encouragement, motivation, and behavioural support.
- Tutor students in areas such as creative writing, communication skills, and other academic subjects as required.
- Mentor pupils to develop confidence, independence, and social skills through personalised guidance.
- Assist with organising classroom activities, materials, and resources to promote an inclusive learning atmosphere.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to monitor student progress and adapt support strategies accordingly.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is essential.
- Prior experience supporting individuals with disabilities or autism is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of special education practices and inclusive teaching methods is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pupils, teachers, and parents.
- Creative writing skills to assist in developing engaging learning materials and activities.
- Ability to be patient, empathetic, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- A genuine passion for mentoring young learners and supporting their development.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education or special needs support are preferred but not mandatory.
