Overview
The Sales and Marketing Assistant plays a key support role within the commercial team, helping to deliver Circulus' sales, marketing and business development activities. Working closely with the Business Development Director and external marketing agency, the role is responsible for generating content and co-ordinating marketing campaigns, creating sales leads, supporting tender submissions, managing internal communications, and maintaining Circulus' digital presence.
This is a varied and hands-on role suitable for someone who enjoys both creative marketing activities and direct sales support, with the opportunity to gain experience across lead generation, business development, content creation, events, and bid management.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and executing B2B (business-to-business) marketing strategies that enhance brand visibility and generate leads
- Conduct outbound prospecting calls and emails
- Support the leadership team by preparing proposals, presentations, and marketing materials using Microsoft PowerPoint and Canva
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive insights that inform marketing campaigns and sales tactics
- Manage project timelines effectively, ensuring all marketing activities are delivered on schedule while maintaining high quality standards
- Maintain organised records of sales activities, client interactions, and campaign performance metrics using Microsoft Excel
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to co-ordinate promotional events, digital campaigns, and outreach initiatives
- Communicate clearly with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables
- Contribute to projects relating to businesses development including CRM implementation and AI integration
Essential
- Experience in a sales, marketing, business development or communications support role or recent marketing graduate.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Skilled in developing professional presentations and visual content using Canva and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
- Confident using Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- Experience managing social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Professional and confident telephone manner.
Desirable
- Marketing or Business-related qualification.
- Experience using CRM systems.
- Experience supporting tender or bid submissions.
- Knowledge of email marketing platforms.
- Experience working with external marketing agencies.
- Understanding of sustainability, circular economy or environmental services sectors.
- Experience attending and supporting business events and exhibitions.

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
