We're seeking two enthusiastic individuals to learn the art of cheese mongering, based out of the maturing rooms in Dyrham. 100% onsite role, access to own transport essential- no direct public transport links.
(This is a warehouse based role, not a customer facing role).
Duties:
Operations
- Oversee the receipt, checking, booking-in and storage of incoming cheese deliveries.
- Ensure accurate stock records and undertake regular stock takes.
- Be accountable for cheese care, including brushing, turning, cleaning and monitoring product quality.
- Pick, cut, wrap and prepare orders accurately and on time for the following parts of the business: Fine Cheese Co. shops, e-commerce, domestic trade customers and export trade customers.
- Act periodically as consumer-facing cheesemongers.
Food Safety, Hygiene and Cheese Quality
- Maintain the highest standard.
- Ensure correct handling of exposed cheese to prevent contamination.
- Keep storage, cutting and food preparation areas clean, organised and audit ready.
- Ensure Company Health & Safety policies and all food safety procedures are followed.
- Work closely with the Cheese Specialist and Technical teams to resolve product quality and safety issues.
Previous work in a food environment is desirable, but an interest in cheese and a willingness to work hard is essential.
