Hybrid: 2 days per week in Central Manchester (Mon & Wed)
Reporting to: James Clark (Head of Demand Generation)
Engage Solutions Group is a UK-based, AI-first SaaS company solving a real communication challenge inside organisations: how to keep employees and customers connected, informed and part of a community.
We didn't start in SaaS. The business began in print media, pivoted into mobile apps in 2015–16, and in 2017 new ownership with strong SaaS backgrounds moved us to a product-led model. Today, 60+ customers across retail, automotive, legal and professional services run on the platform, and growth to date has been organic.
Deals now land in the £200k–£400k ARR range and larger opportunities are opening up. The next step is £1m+ enterprise deals. This role exists to make that repeatable.
AI is not a bolt-on here. It runs through the product and through how we build pipeline: Clay, Apollo and HubSpot sit at the core of our GTM stack, alongside signal and intent tooling we're building in-house. You'll use these from day one.
You'll be the first SDR hire, working directly with the founders and senior BDMs on live enterprise opportunities: shaping outreach, doing deeper research, keeping deals moving once they start. The conversations we open are senior, often with leadership teams, so the quality of early work matters more than volume.
There's also a defined path. This role is built to grow into SDR Lead: as we scale, you'll hire and manage a team of SDRs who each own a vertical, with you overseeing the full outbound pipeline. You'd be building the function you then run.
-
Outbound & Prospecting into enterprise accounts. sector-agnostic, guided by signals and intent rather than a fixed vertical list across all channels (Phone, Social channels, WhatsApp, Email etc)
-
Close collaboration with marketing on ABM: shared target accounts, intent data and campaign follow-through, so you're never cold-starting
-
Working alongside senior BDMs on live opportunities: prep, follow-ups, keeping things moving
-
Deep account and stakeholder research, using AI tooling (Clay, Apollo) where it genuinely helps
-
Outreach & Prospecting that's considered and relevant to the person receiving it
-
HubSpot kept accurate and genuinely useful day to day
-
Staying involved as deals progress rather than dropping off after the first meeting
After 6 months:
-
You own a pipeline number and you're hitting it
-
Pipeline you've sourced is converting to revenue, and you can show your contribution to it
-
You're feeding tactics and strategy back to leadership: insight sharp enough to inform boardroom conversations
-
The quality of pipeline coming through has noticeably improved
-
People internally trust you to get on with things without constant input
-
You've spent time in a B2B SaaS SDR or similar role and understand how outbound fits into a wider sales process
-
You're comfortable with autonomy, happy being the only SDR and figuring things out as you go
-
You're interested in how deals actually come together, not just the first step
-
You're organised and can keep track of multiple conversations without things slipping
-
You're comfortable speaking to senior people and can hold your own
-
You're already AI-native in how you work: enriching, automating and researching with tools like Clay and Apollo, and thinking about how to use them better
-
You care about doing things properly, not just hitting activity numbers
-
You're looking for a high-volume SDR role where it's all about meetings booked
-
You prefer environments where everything is already defined and structured
-
You're not comfortable working independently or without close day-to-day support
-
You're not that interested in what happens after the meeting is booked
-
You're not motivated by a performance-led setup
-
Genuinely competitive base salary and commission structure - full details will be shared during interviews
-
Commission structure designed around full-funnel contribution: pipeline quality and revenue, not just meetings booked
-
Unlimited annual leave
-
Flexi-hybrid working (2 days in our Central Manchester office)
-
Private healthcare, pension scheme, Death in Service
-
Gym, cycle store and on-site showers, Cycle to Work scheme
-
Quarterly release parties, summer and Christmas socials
-
Screening call with one of our Talent Partners
-
Video call with our Head of Demand Generation (James)
-
Final F2F at our Central Manchester office with the leadership team, including a practical task.
The task, shared with you in advance so you can prepare properly:
-
Identify 5 companies you'd target as ICP for Engage, and explain how you got there
-
Write the intro email you'd send to a named stakeholder at one of them
-
A short cold call role play with the team
We share the brief upfront on purpose. You get to see how the job actually works, and we get to judge you on the work rather than on how well you interview.
