You will lead driver briefings and debriefings, oversee operational performance, support transport planning, and act as a key point of contact for both internal and external customers. This is an excellent opportunity for a transport professional with strong leadership, operational and compliance experience who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Shift pattern: Monday – Friday 7:00pm - 3:30am
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead driver briefings and debriefings to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
- Monitor route performance, working time, mileage, and service delivery across the shift.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues, including delays, vehicle defects, incidents, and compliance concerns.
- Motivate, coach, and support drivers to deliver excellent operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with transport legislation, company policies, and Health & Safety standards.
- Maintain accurate vehicle, trailer, and driver records across transport systems.
- Analyse tachograph and telematics data to identify trends and drive performance improvements.
- Manage transport planning systems, ensuring operational changes are accurately reflected.
- Produce KPI reports and operational insight to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and customers, ensuring service levels are consistently achieved.
- Deputise for the Transport Shift Manager when required.
What We're Looking For
- CPC qualification desirable, or willingness to work towards one.
- Previous experience within a transport, traffic office, or logistics environment.
- Experience with transport management, telematics, and tachograph systems (e.g. Isotrak, Ortec, Tachomaster).
- Knowledge of route planning, optimisation, and transport compliance.
- Experience producing and analysing KPI and operational performance reports.
- Proven people management experience at supervisory level or above.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and perform under pressure.
- Data-driven approach with the ability to identify and implement operational improvements.
In this role, you will be a visible leader within the operation, ensuring that transport activities run safely, efficiently and compliantly throughout your shift. You will inspire and motivate drivers, proactively resolve operational challenges, and champion high standards of performance, professionalism and customer service.
If you're a motivated transport professional looking to take the next step in your leadership career within a high-volume logistics environment, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and become part of a team that keeps our operation moving.
