About Aethos
Aethos is an experiential, design-led hospitality group creating places where people come not simply to stay, but to connect, discover and belong.
At Aethos London, we're building a new kind of members' club in the heart of East London: a cultural hub shaped as much by the people within it as the space itself.
Our members are not passive participants in the community. They are creatives, founders, entrepreneurs, cultural voices and connectors who actively help shape the energy of the club. We want them collaborating with us, introducing ideas, hosting conversations, building events and bringing their own communities into Aethos.
Our role is to create the platform for those connections to happen, and to build a programme of experiences that keeps Aethos relevant, exciting and deeply connected to the city around us.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced Community Manager and event curator to help shape the next chapter of Aethos London — someone who is, first and foremost, a cultural connector, and second, a meticulous operator who can turn that instinct into a flawlessly run programme.
This is a highly social, outward-facing role for someone who understands London culture, knows what is happening across the city, and is naturally embedded within its creative and emerging communities.
You'll bring your own network of cultural connectors, creatives, founders, collectives, event concepts and emerging communities, and will constantly be thinking about who should know about Aethos, who should be in the room, and what we could create together.
At the heart of the role is member event programming. You will lead the member events calendar from concept through to completion, working with members, partners and the wider Aethos team — including Food Beverage as a true creative partner to build a programme that feels distinctive to us.
You won't simply programme events for our members; you'll create them with our members, and you'll be the person they come to first — the recognisable, trusted face who helps turn a member's idea into a real experience at Aethos.
Core Responsibilities
Member Events Cultural Programming
- Lead the Aethos London member events programme, developing a considered calendar of cultural, social, wellness, food, music and community-led experiences.
- Own concepts from initial idea through to execution and post-event review, including a clear-eyed assessment of what worked and what to change next time.
Event Curation, Delivery Operational Rigour
- Take complete ownership of event planning and delivery: meeting with members and external partners, developing concepts, agreeing requirements, scheduling and coordinating stakeholders.
- Produce detailed, accurate run sheets, timings and briefing documents for every event, and keep them current as details change — nothing should be left to memory or assumption on the day.
- Track budgets, supplier quotes, contracts and costs against plan for each event vs the monthly and annual events budget.
- Maintain the events calendar, member communications and administrative systems with genuine precision, this role balances a highly social presence with the discipline to keep every detail correct.
FB Collaboration
- Work in complete synergy with the Food Beverage team to develop and deliver programming that feels fully integrated into the wider Aethos experience.
- Collaborate closely on menus, formats, timings, operational requirements and guest journeys, ensuring concepts are both creatively exciting and operationally strong.
Member-Led Programming — Being the Face of the Club
- Build strong relationships with members and identify opportunities for them to contribute to the life of the club.
- Discover the founders, artists, chefs, musicians, creatives, thinkers and connectors already within our community, and work with them to develop events, collaborations and experiences.
- Be the person members think of first when they have an idea, a project or a connection they want to bring into Aethos — approachable, responsive and genuinely invested in helping their ideas happen.
London Community Cultural Network
- Be embedded in London's social and cultural landscape, with a particular understanding of East London and the emerging communities shaping the city.
- Build relationships with collectives, creatives, cultural organisations, founders and community leaders who could be introduced to Aethos through membership, partnerships, events and collaborations.
Partnerships Collaborations
- Meet with prospective partners, brands, talent and community leaders to develop collaborations that bring something meaningful to the Aethos community.
- Assess opportunities through the lens of cultural relevance, member value and brand alignment, with clear documentation of terms and deliverables for each partnership.
Community Building
- Be a visible, highly engaged and consistently recognisable presence within the club — the member-facing name and face people associate with getting things done.
- Know our members individually, understand their interests, and actively make introductions between people who should know one another.
- Help create the sense that something interesting can happen simply by spending time at Aethos.
Hosting Member Experience
- Be present at key member events and activations, setting the tone, welcoming members and partners, making introductions and ensuring experiences feel personal, effortless and unmistakably Aethos.
Programming Strategy Reporting
- Continually assess what is resonating with the community, using member feedback, attendance data and cultural insight to evolve the programme.
- Balance recurring community rituals with new concepts that keep the calendar fresh and relevant.
- Provide clear, accurate reporting on programming activity, attendance and budget to the Membership Director on a regular cadence.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is already part of the world we want Aethos London to represent — an experienced event curator and community builder who understands that great programming is about more than filling a calendar.
You understand people, culture, hospitality and know how to create experiences that build genuine connection.
Just as importantly, you take real pride in getting the details right.
- Strong experience in event curation, programming, community, hospitality or culturally led lifestyle brands.
- A proven ability to take events from initial concept through planning, production and successful execution.
- An established network across London's creative, cultural, hospitality, music, wellness, entrepreneurial or emerging community scenes.
- A genuine curiosity for new communities, talent, ideas and cultural movements.
- Strong relationships and partnership-building skills, with confidence meeting members, brands, creatives and collaborators.
- Meticulous organisation and attention to detail — comfortable owning event schedules, run sheets, budgets, contracts, stakeholder management and operational planning without anything slipping through the cracks.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work seamlessly with Membership, Food Beverage, Operations and Marketing.
- A natural instinct for bringing people together, and for being the familiar, trusted face members turn to when they want to bring an idea to life.
- The confidence to lead concepts creatively while understanding — and personally handling — the operational detail required to bring them to life.
Above all, we want someone who is excited by the opportunity to help shape one of East London's newest members' clubs — someone who wants to know our members personally, discover the communities forming around us, and turn those relationships into experiences that give Aethos London its own cultural identity.
Why Join Us
Aethos London is still being shaped, and that is exactly what makes this role exciting. You won't be inheriting a rigid events calendar or established formula. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside our members, partners and team to define what the Aethos London community becomes.
This is an opportunity for an ambitious event curator and community builder to put their network, ideas and cultural instinct into practice — creating experiences that bring people together and helping establish Aethos as a genuine cultural hub within East London.
