Are you an experienced finance professional looking for an opportunity to play a key role in supporting the Council’s financial management and reporting processes? We are seeking a Finance Lead Officer to join the Financial Management Accounting Team within the Accountancy Division. This is an excellent opportunity to utilise your expertise in local government finance and contribute to the delivery of high-quality financial services.
What you will do:

Prepare and monitor revenue budget forecasts and financial statements.
- Produce estimate working papers and support the preparation of final accounts.
- Prepare and submit grant claims to Welsh Government and other external funding bodies.
- Liaise with budget holders to provide financial advice and support.
- Work with funding organisations and external auditors to ensure compliance with financial requirements.
What we're looking for:

Qualified Accounting Technician (essential).
- At least 3 years' experience working within a Local Government Finance environment.
- Experience of budget monitoring, forecasting and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of local government accounting practices and grant funding requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong IT skills, including experience of financial management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
