The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to support the day-to-day running of the home. You will lead by example, promote best practice, and ensure residents receive safe, dignified, and individualised care.
You will also deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager and be part of the on-call rota.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager in the effective leadership and management of the home
- Deputise for the Registered Manager when required, ensuring continuity of care and compliance
- Provide leadership across care, administration, catering, housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance teams
- Support staff with care delivery, including personal care and wellbeing, while promoting dignity and independence
- Ensure the service operates in line with CQC regulations, legislation, policies, and best practice
- Participate in the on-call rota and respond appropriately to out-of-hours issues
- Support staff development, supervision, and training
- Contribute to care planning, risk management, and quality assurance
- Work within agreed financial and operational plans
What We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 or above in Health and Social Care (Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards)
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a care home setting
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Good knowledge of dementia and Alzheimer’s care
- Experience with care planning, medication administration, and safeguarding
- A positive, flexible, and proactive approach
