Site Manager / Supervisor – Social Housing Kitchen & Bathroom Refurbishment

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager / Supervisor to join a large contractor delivering a social housing kitchen and bathroom refurbishment programme in North Liverpool.
This is an immediate-start opportunity, initially for around 3 months, with the potential for further work depending on the programme.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing site-based operatives and foremen, ensuring works are delivered safely, to a high standard and in line with programme requirements, client expectations and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee day-to-day site operations across a social housing kitchen and bathroom refurbishment programme.
- Ensure all operatives and foremen have the relevant experience, skills and competence to complete their allocated works.
- Ensure operatives are appropriately trained and competent in all relevant health and safety requirements.
- Ensure all works comply with company health and safety, environmental and quality policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe working environment and ensure safe systems of work are followed at all times.
- Lead by example and promote a positive health and safety culture across the site.
- Carry out and assist with pre-site and post-site inspections.
- Monitor progress against the agreed programme and identify potential delays, risks and opportunities.
- Escalate operational issues including labour shortages, quality concerns, access problems and programme risks.
- Liaise with residents and the Community Engagement Team to ensure customer care requirements are properly managed.
- Carry out regular site inspections and audits covering quality, health and safety and environmental standards.
- Ensure works are completed efficiently and to a high standard, meeting or exceeding client and customer expectations.
- Complete mandatory daily and weekly health and safety checks.
- Communicate regularly with the client and Contracts Manager regarding project progress and site performance.
- Assist with contract administration and project documentation.
- Monitor and manage signing-in and signing-out procedures for all site personnel.
- Maintain accurate registers of plant, equipment and materials on site.
- Carry out regular checks of purchases and timesheets to ensure accuracy and prevent fraudulent activity.
- Attend and contribute to progress and project meetings.
- Assist with performance management and disciplinary procedures where required.
- Call off materials and coordinate material requirements to ensure the programme is not delayed.
- Ensure all site activities are carried out in accordance with HSE requirements and relevant legislation.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience as a Site Manager, Site Supervisor or similar position.
- Experience working on social housing or residential refurbishment projects.
- Strong background in kitchen and bathroom refurbishment is highly desirable.
- Experience managing tradespeople, operatives and foremen.
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements within a construction environment.
- Ability to monitor programmes, identify risks and keep works progressing.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Confident liaising with clients, Contracts Managers, residents and site teams.
- Able to complete site inspections, audits and health and safety checks.
- Strong understanding of quality control and customer care.
- SMSTS/SSSTS and relevant site safety qualifications are desirable.
- CSCS qualification is desirable.
