Job Role: Senior Residential Support Worker - Solo placement, 2:1 staffing

Pay: £15.25 - £16.25 depending on experience
At Stepping Stones Care, we are opening our newest home! This home will be a solo placement home in Bilston, Wolverhampton, and we are building the team from scratch.
One young person will live here, supported by two staff at all times. The young people we will care for will have been through a great deal, and their behaviour can be complex and at times very challenging. Some will have moved through several placements before reaching us. Our home exists so that stops happening.
We are looking for experienced Seniors to help us set the standard from day one. In a home like this, the Senior sets the tone. The consistency of the team, the quality of the recording, the calm in the room during an incident and the debrief afterwards all come back to how the Senior on shift leads it.
This is not a role for everyone, and we would rather be straight with you now than a few months into the role. There will be difficult shifts. There will be aggression, distress and days where nothing seems to be progressing. There will also be moments you remember for years.

This role is for experienced residential staff
You will need:
- Your Level 4 Diploma in Children and Young People, already completed
- Experience of working in a children’s residential home
- Experience of working with children who present challenging behaviour

You’ll need
- Level 4 Diploma in Children and Young People
- Experience of working in a children’s residential home
- Experience of working with children who present challenging behaviour
- A full manual UK driving licence
- Confidence leading a shift and holding colleagues to a standard
- Strong written skills, and the ability to produce records and reports that stand up to scrutiny
- Resilience, patience and the ability to stay calm and consistent under pressure
- The physical capability to take part in approved physical intervention
- An open mind about working in a therapeutic environment
- The self awareness to know when you need support, and the willingness to ask for it
