Transport Account Manager Overview
Llane Logistics is looking for an organised, driven, and customer-focused Transport Account Manager to join our growing team.
This is a hands-on role where you'll take ownership of your customer accounts, managing their transport requirements from initial enquiry through to successful delivery. You'll build long-term relationships with customers, plan and manage daily transport movements, source vehicles when required, and ensure every load is delivered to the high standards our customers expect.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, acting as their primary day-to-day point of contact.
- Build and maintain strong relationships by delivering outstanding customer service.
- Manage customer transport requirements from booking through to successful delivery.
- Plan and coordinate daily transport movements to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Source vehicles and subcontractors when required, negotiating competitive rates.
- Monitor the progress of loads throughout the day, responding quickly to any changes or issues.
- Keep customers informed with accurate and timely updates.
- Ensure jobs are completed accurately and all relevant information is recorded within the transport management system.
- Resolve transport queries and provide practical solutions to keep freight moving efficiently.
- Work closely with customers and suppliers to deliver reliable and cost-effective transport solutions.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience within the transport, logistics, or haulage industry.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to prioritise workload and remain calm under pressure.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Confidence making decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Good IT skills and experience using transport management systems and Microsoft Office.
- A proactive attitude with a genuine commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Desirable Experience
- Experience managing customer accounts within a transport or logistics business.
- Knowledge of UK road haulage operations.
- Experience sourcing subcontractors and negotiating transport rates.
