Job Overview
Learn With Amelia is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support our Learn & Create Workshopduring the October half term. The workshop is designed for children aged 6–9 and combines English, Maths and creative art activities.
In this important role, you will work alongside Amelia to create an engaging, inclusive and nurturing learning environment. Your enthusiasm, patience and encouragement will help pupils develop their confidence, independence and enjoyment of learning.
This is a paid position and an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference to young learners while developing your own skills in education and mentoring.
Responsibilities
- Assist Amelia with daily workshop activities across English, Maths and Arts and Crafts.
- Support pupils individually and in small groups to reinforce key skills and learning.
- Provide additional encouragement to pupils who may lack confidence, helping them to develop greater self-belief.
- Support planned creative writing exercises and activities that encourage imagination, expression and literacy development.
- Help create a positive classroom atmosphere through mentoring and growth-mindset approaches.
- Monitor pupils’ behaviour and encourage kind, respectful interactions.
- Help maintain a safe, organised and stimulating workshop environment by preparing and managing materials and resources.
- Escort pupils to the toilets on the premises when required.
- Help wipe down tables and tidy the learning space after break and lunchtime.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working with children in an educational, tutoring or childcare setting.
- A friendly, patient and encouraging approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively alongside Amelia, support pupils and welcome parents in a warm and professional manner.
- The ability to adapt support creatively to meet individual pupils’ needs.
- Experience in tutoring or mentoring would be beneficial.
- A genuine passion for helping children develop academically, socially and emotionally.
- A commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity and supports every pupil’s growth.
