At Benchmark Capital, we're looking for a qualified Group Accountant to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant who enjoys working across financial reporting, management accounts, statutory reporting and continuous process improvement within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
You'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting, supporting both internal stakeholders and our wider Group reporting requirements.
As Group Accountant, you'll be responsible for:
Producing monthly management accounts for a portfolio of group companies.
Managing the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness and consistency.
Preparing quarterly Board reporting packs.
Posting journals, maintaining fixed asset registers, accruals and prepayments.
Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
Supporting the production of consolidated management accounts and Group reporting.
Assisting with statutory accounts prepared under UK GAAP and IFRS.
Supporting the annual external audit process.
Working alongside the Group Tax team on VAT, Corporation Tax, PAYE Settlement Agreements and P11D reporting.
Supporting finance transformation projects, process improvements and systems enhancements.
Providing financial insight and support for ad-hoc business initiatives.
You'll be a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting knowledge and experience of working across the full accounting cycle.
You'll also bring:
A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
Experience producing management accounts from start to finish.
Strong knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102) and IFRS.
Experience preparing statutory accounts and supporting external audits.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong Excel and financial systems experience.
The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet challenging deadlines.
Experience within financial services would be advantageous but isn't essential.
