Overview
Zen Educate is seeking a dedicated and passionate Mathematics Teacher for a long term placement starting in September 2026.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mathematical concepts and the ability to engage students in learning within an alternative provision. This role is essential in fostering a positive learning environment and encouraging students to develop their mathematical skills. The Mathematics Teacher will be responsible for educating students, implementing effective teaching strategies, and supporting their academic growth.
Duties
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and cater to various learning styles.
- Educate students in mathematical concepts, including algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics.
- Utilise behaviour management techniques to maintain a focused and respectful classroom environment.
- Provide tutoring and mentoring support to students who require additional assistance or enrichment.
- Assess student progress through regular testing, assignments, and feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience and share best practices.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and methodologies.
- Support students with special educational needs by adapting lessons and providing tailored resources.
- Engage in scientific research related to mathematics education as needed.
Requirements
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
- Degree in Mathematics
- Experience in tutoring or mentoring students in mathematics, key stage 3 and 4
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in behaviour management strategies to create a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners.
