Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team working with individuals with Learning Disabilities. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in need, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. This role involves working closely with clients who have a Learning Disability in our Day Care, Home Care and Respite, to assist with daily activities and personal care.
Duties
- Provide patient care and support to individuals with varying needs, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Assist clients with heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
- Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and preferences, promoting healthy eating habits.
- Administer medication as prescribed, ensuring adherence to medical guidelines and protocols.
- Engage in behaviour management strategies to support clients in maintaining positive behaviours.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in behaviour or health to the relevant professionals.
- Provide support with PEG feeding.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role within healthcare settings is preferred.
- Strong understanding of patient care principles and practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively.
- Valid driving licence is essential for transporting clients.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Relevant qualifications in healthcare or social care are advantageous.
